Short Biographie

Born in Southern Germany

Artistic education at the Art Academy Bad Reichenhall, Augsburg and Betzigau .

In 2020 my husband and I moved from the middle of Berlin to beautiful Kempten - close to the Alps. I love hiking in the mountains and enjoying alpine nature. I also love traveling and discover new places. I have lived in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin and as well as in San Francisco and Berkeley.

When I don't paint I read a lot and cook and bake.

I am an abstract painter and I call my art Abstract Lyricism.
What I am trying to do with Abstract Lyricism is to capture the beauty and power of natural phenomena or any other subject I am dealing with because I am attracted to whatever it is that has a hold on me. When I see a mountain or, better, when I am climbing a mountain, I feel its power and I see its beauty. As an artist I find that the closer I get to the essence of that power – the more reduced and thus abstract the presentation is of the subject matter -- the more able I am to communicate its impact on me. While reducing form to the level of abstraction, my employment of a rich variety of colors allows me to express the innate lyricism of the subject as well. Hence:  Abstract Lyricism.
In the end, life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world.  And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture.
